Our Farm
It's Pumpkin Time!
MaryHill Farms & Country Inn is situated on a private 3-1/4 acre parcel of richly
nourished organic soil. No fertilizers, weed killers or pesticides of any kind have
ever been used on this rich virgin soil.
For the past two years MaryHill farms has been conditioning and preparing the
soil and gardens for our elegant planting of wildflowers for the cutting
gardens, herbs and plots of select vegetables. The wildflower gardens
encompass nearly an acre of land.
Our own unique and special wildflower blends have been tested during our
second year and we are proud of the results. Collectively, we have over 30
different types of flower varieties. Our unique blends of wildflowers attract
many varieties of butterflies, bees, hummingbirds and other species of wildlife.
We also have 4 different sunflower varieties, including our famous 14 foot
mammoth variety. Decorative and attractive. Birds and bees both feast on
the abundant sunflower seeds.
Each year we plant pumpkin, nasturtium, cucumber and squash at the top of
our hill. Watch as the pumpkins started from seed, blossom and grow
downward adding to the already pictorial landscape of flowers. Come October
all of our pumpkin crop is donated to the local charities.
Small separate parcels of rich organic soil are set aside from the flower gardens
to grow our special 7-variety mescaline blend of lettuce. A true treat and
favorite among the local vegans. Fresh cut herbs and potted herbs are
available in addition to cut flower arrangements.
Our Rich Organic Soil is what makes us so unique.
